Minted Gold Bar 15g
\Minted bars (cut from LBMA gold bar), however, are modern technologies. They have only been produced in large quantities (mostly by LBMA-accredited refiners) since the 1970s. Minted bars are manufactured to precise dimensions (like coins). They have normally been marked with an official stamp of the refiner or issuer, the gross weight or fine gold content, and the gold purity (usually 999.9). A serial number has not always been applied. Argor-Heraeus is generally acknowledged as the first LBMA refiner to have manufactured minted bars. In 1952, operating in its original location in Chiasso, Switzerland, it issued a range of six rectangular bars (of 5-100 grams), followed by Degussa (Germany) and Heraeus (Germany) in the late 1950s
